Becoming a disciple and growing as a disciple aren't limited to just a "Sunday School class" type of learning. We grow best when we are in community together. Beechwold offers several different ways and opportunities for us to become better disciples of Jesus. We do offer a regular teaching-style class on Sunday mornings during our Life Group time after Worship, but we also grow through Oikos groups: groups meant to create and sustain healthy community. Phil Jackson is famous for implementing his Triangle Offense in his time coaching the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls and Kobe Bryant-led Los Angeles Lakers. Everything in the Triangle Offense was done with purpose. Ascent, our men's ministry, strives to take a similar approach in encouraging men to embrace both the joys and responsibilities of being a man who is pursuing godliness. We do this through three practices: Action, Play, and Space. Action is a time of learning from one another. Play is a time of growing together through activity. And Space is a time for each man to spend alone with God. Check out our calendar for dates for Ascent and click here to RSVP for this month's Ascent!
College is a transitional time period and it's easy to feel lost in the fray and like you don't belong. At Beechwold, we know that's not true. We know the immense value and need for inclusion that college students have. There are several opportunities (including a young adult/college age-specific Oikos Group) here.
